From Jim Murphy:
A lot happened Sunday as we played our final event of the year at ever-challenging Split Rock. It was cool and quite breezy, and it was challenging to find a ball a few feet in the thick rough with the low Autumn sun. A few finals were played. In the Partners, Joe Browne and Donal Maher staged a furious comeback from 6 down to tie the Monaghan Marauders ( Frank Finnegan and Dominic Mulligan) after 36 holes. That forces another 18 holes to determine the winner. In the Club Championship, Marty Moss will need to weave a similar comeback to overcome the early lead enjoyed by Bob Andrasick. And in the "B" bracket, reports are that the Costigan-Marshall match might have set the game back a hundred years, as the participants recorded 199 strokes to a tie after 18 holes.
A far as the tournement on the day, here are the results:
1st Jim Murphy 39 points (22 on back 9)
2nd Darren Talbot 39 points (21 on back 9)
3rd Pat Whelan 35 points
4th Steve McCrimlisk 34 points
5th Donal Maher 33 points ( 18 on back 9)
6th Damien Sweeney 33 pints (16 on back 9)
CTP 4th hole Steve McCrimlisk
